Privacy policy

This is a translation. If it differs from the Portuguese version, the Portuguese version prevails.

  • You can browse and play without an account. With one, only your e-mail is required, and you can stay anonymous.
  • Your profile starts private. Name, phone and bio are optional, and only you see your personal data.
  • Game metrics use a code that changes every day: we don't store your IP or your browser in them.
  • We have no ads, we don't sell data and we don't use third-party analytics or tracking tools.
  • You can download or delete your data whenever you want, in Account settings.

1. Who looks after your data

Jogue.Games is responsible (the controller) for the data described here.

For anything about privacy, including reaching our data protection officer, write to contact@jogue.games.

2. What we process, why, and on what legal basis

  • Metrics, with or without an account. When you open a game page or click "Play now", we store the game, the date and time and a visitor code that changes every day. That code is generated irreversibly, with a secret key, from your IP and browser, which are not stored. It only keeps us from counting the same person several times in one day; it doesn't link visits on different days or identify anyone. Basis: legitimate interest (knowing which games people like most and improving the site).
  • Play time. While a game is open, your browser sends how long it has been open every 30 seconds, with a random code created on the spot. That code is not stored in your browser and is not linked to the visitor code or to your account. Basis: legitimate interest (game statistics).
  • Access records. Brazil's Internet Civil Framework (Law 12,965/2014) requires sites like ours to keep the IP address and the date and time of each access for 6 months. These records are kept confidential, with restricted access, and are only handed over under a court order. Basis: compliance with a legal obligation.
  • Account. E-mail (to sign in and receive account notices), password (stored only in encrypted form; not even we can read it) and, if you want, your name. Signing in with Google, GitHub or Discord (when available), we receive your name, e-mail and the account's identifier on that service, and we keep the access codes it provides to maintain the link; your profile photo is not stored. Basis: performance of the contract (the terms of use).
  • Sessions. When you sign in, we store the session dates and the browser used, to keep you signed in for up to 30 days and to let you see where you are signed in. Your IP is only used in the moment, to block mass attempts, and is not kept in the session. Basis: performance of the contract and legitimate interest (security).
  • Player profile. Nickname, display name, bio, favorites and whether you confirmed being 18 to see adult games. It starts private; you decide whether it becomes public. Full name and phone are optional and only you see them. Basis: performance of the contract; the optional fields, with your consent, which you withdraw by clearing the field.
  • Reviews. What you recommend and write about a game appears on its page under your nickname; the link to your profile only exists if it is public. You can edit or delete it whenever you want. Basis: performance of the contract.
  • Reports. We store which account reported, the reason and the message, to review them and prevent abuse. If you delete your account, the report stays, with nothing that identifies you. Basis: legitimate interest (security and moderation).
  • Contact form. The subject, your e-mail, the message and, if you give it, your name are sent to our inbox so we can answer. Nothing is kept on the site; the e-mail stays in our inbox while the conversation is useful. Basis: legitimate interest (answering whoever writes to us).
  • E-mails. We only send service messages: e-mail confirmation, password changes and account deletion. We don't send advertising.

3. Cookies and data in your browser

  • Session (cookie jogue.session_token): keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. Necessary; it only exists if you sign in.
  • Age confirmation (cookie jg_18): created only if you confirm your age on an adult game page; it lasts until you close the browser.
  • Preferences (browser local storage): light or dark theme and, if you saw the notice page from before the launch, the language chosen there. Everywhere else, the language comes from the address (/en for English).
  • Navigation (tab storage): the previous page, for the "Back" link. It is gone when you close the tab.

We don't use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.

4. Browser games

Games that run here are isolated (in a protected area of the browser), with no access to your account, your cookies or the Jogue.Games pages. A game may save progress or high scores in its own space in your browser, when the browser allows it. For now, all the games are made by Jogue.Games itself and don't ask for personal data.

5. Who we share with

  • Hostinger, which hosts the site, the database and e-mail delivery, and processes data only for that.
  • Google, GitHub or Discord, only if you choose to sign in with them. In that case, that service's privacy policy also applies.
  • Authorities, when the law or a court order requires it.

We don't sell or rent data.

6. Data outside Brazil

Some of these services may process data on servers outside Brazil (for example, the sign-in services). In those cases, the transfer follows the LGPD's rules, with providers that offer compatible protection guarantees.

7. How long we keep it

  • Account and profile: until you delete the account. Deleting it erases the account, profile, favorites, reviews and sessions.
  • Sessions: up to 30 days, or until you sign out.
  • Links sent by e-mail: password resets last 1 hour; the others, up to 1 day.
  • Access records (IP, date and time): 6 months, as the Internet Civil Framework requires.
  • Metrics and play time: row by row for about 13 months; after that, only each game's daily totals, without the visitor code.
  • Reports: while the game's page exists, to keep a record of decisions.

8. Your rights

Under Brazil's data protection law (LGPD), you can, at any time:

  • See and take your data: "Download my data", in Account settings, creates a file with what we store about you.
  • Correct it: edit your profile and personal data in My account.
  • Delete it: clear the optional fields or delete the whole account.
  • Ask who we share it with, object to a use based on legitimate interest or withdraw consent: contact@jogue.games. We reply within 15 days.
  • Complain to Brazil's National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).

9. Security

Encrypted passwords, HTTPS, a confirmed e-mail to sign in, isolated games and as little data as possible. If an incident could put you at risk, we will tell you and the ANPD.

10. Children and teenagers

Anyone can browse and play without an account. Accounts are for people at least 13 years old; between 13 and 18, with the permission of a parent or guardian. We don't ask minors for more data than the account needs. If you know of an account belonging to a child, write to contact@jogue.games and we will remove it.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change something important, we will let you know on the site and by e-mail before the change takes effect.
