About the game

Brazilian bar-table dominoes with a double-six set. Play in pairs with your computer partner against two opponents, to 6 points, where going out with a double or a tile that fits both ends scores more, or one on one against the computer with a boneyard, to 50 points. Right in the browser.

How to play Dominoes

1. Dominoes uses 28 tiles, from double blank to double six. On your turn, match a tile to the number at one of the open ends; whoever runs out of tiles goes out.
2. Partners: you and your partner (across the table) against two, with 7 tiles each and no boneyard. With no tile that fits, you pass. The first hand opens with the double six.
3. Partner scoring: going out is worth 1, going out on a double 2, on a tile that fits both ends 3, and on a double that fits both ends 4. The match goes to 6.
4. Blocked game: when nobody can play, the side with the fewest pips in hand scores 1.
5. Against the computer: one on one, and the leftover tiles form the boneyard. With no play, you draw until you can. Whoever goes out scores the pips left in the other hand, and the match goes to 50.

Tips

• Watch who passes and on which end: it tells you which numbers they are missing.
• Get rid of heavy tiles early, especially against the computer, where the tiles left in your hand score for the other side.
• Try to leave on the ends the numbers you and your partner hold, and block the ones your opponents lack.
• Keep a double or a tile that fits both ends for going out: those finishes score more.
