How to play Sudoku
- A Sudoku board is a 9×9 grid split into nine 3×3 boxes. Some numbers are already filled in.
- Fill the empty cells with numbers from 1 to 9: every row, every column and every 3×3 box must hold all the numbers from 1 to 9, with no repeats.
- Every grid has a single solution, and you can reach it with logic alone, no guessing.
- Pick a level: Easy, Medium, Hard or Expert. Each game deals a new grid, and the Daily challenge is the same grid for everyone.
Tips
- Start with the rows, columns and boxes that are almost full: with few empty cells, the missing numbers show up fast.
- For each number, check where it can still go in a box. If only one cell is left, that is its place.
- Use notes to mark the candidates of each cell. When a cell is down to one candidate, fill it in.
- Stuck? Ask for a hint or undo your last moves. Wrong numbers turn red.
